Why a website?
Does a medical practice really need a website in Switzerland?
It is not a legal requirement, but the vast majority of Swiss patients use Google to find a doctor or check opening hours. A professional website increases your visibility, reassures patients before their first visit, and makes you independent from third-party platforms such as OneDoc, local.ch or Comparis.
What are the advantages of having your own website rather than only being on OneDoc?
OneDoc is a directory where patients compare several doctors in one click. Your own website belongs to you, showcases your practice exclusively, and your patients' data stays with you, not with a third-party platform. No commission per appointment, no dependency.
My practice is already busy, why invest in a website?
A professional website reduces repetitive phone calls (opening hours, access, accepted insurance) and enables online appointment booking 24/7, even when your front desk is closed. It is also a mark of professionalism for new patients discovering you.
Pricing and budget
How much does it cost to create a website for a medical practice in Switzerland?
In Switzerland, a professional showcase site costs between 1'500 and 6'000 CHF with a freelancer, and between 5'000 and 15'000 CHF with an agency. At LémanSoin, the Showcase Pack is 1'500 CHF all-inclusive: bespoke design, content, Google SEO. The first year is entirely included in this price: hosting, minor edits (30 minutes per month), email support and security updates. No monthly invoice for 12 months.
What happens from the second year onwards?
You choose freely among 3 options: (1) Hosting only at 290 CHF/year, if you do not need any support; (2) Essential Maintenance at 119 CHF/month, which includes hosting + 1h/month of edits + backups + security updates + email support within 48h; (3) Comfort Maintenance at 189 CHF/month, which adds 2h/month of content changes and priority support within 24h. You receive a proactive email one month before the end of the first year so you can make your choice with peace of mind.
Are there any hidden costs after going live?
No. The first year is entirely included in the pack price: hosting, .ch domain name in your practice's name, minor edits, email support, security updates. From the second year, you choose among 3 options: hosting only (290 CHF/year), Essential Maintenance (119 CHF/month) or Comfort Maintenance (189 CHF/month). The annual renewal of your domain name is included in each of these 3 options, with no separate invoice. For the Booking Pack, automatic daily backups of your patient data are included in the pack price during the first year. From the second year, they remain guaranteed with an Essential or Comfort Maintenance plan; with the Hosting only option, you become solely responsible for your own backups again (revFADP and medical confidentiality, art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code). That is why, for a practice that takes online appointments, a maintenance plan is strongly recommended from the second year.
What if I need an additional change beyond my included quota?
Your pack includes a monthly quota of changes (30 minutes per month in the first year, 1 hour per month with the Essential Maintenance plan, 2 hours per month with the Comfort Maintenance plan). This quota covers most routine requests (changing opening hours, adding a piece of information, updating a short text, adding a simple photo). If you need a more substantial change, you have two options: wait until the following month to use your quota, or have it handled as additional work at the single rate of 130 CHF/h on prior quote. This rate applies to any work beyond the quota (edits, a new page, adding a feature, redesigning a section, integrating a third-party tool), both in the first year and in subsequent years. No commitment, you only pay when you ask.
Who pays for the renewal of my domain name after the first year?
The annual renewal of your domain name is entirely included in the plan you choose from the second year (hosting only at 290 CHF/year, Essential Maintenance at 119 CHF/month or Comfort Maintenance at 189 CHF/month). No separate invoice, no renewal for you to manage: I take care of everything on my technical administration account. The domain stays in your name in the Whois register, you are its legal owner. If one day you decide to change provider, your domain is transferred to you free of charge within minutes via an authentication code.
What is the difference between the Showcase Pack and the Booking Pack?
The Showcase Pack (1'500 CHF) presents your practice online: services, team, opening hours, location, contact form. The Booking Pack (2'900 CHF) adds online appointment booking, video consultations, the full management dashboard (appointments, practitioners, opening hours, patient record), automatic email and SMS reminders, sending prescriptions and documents to the patient from the dashboard, the professional email address in your practice's name, two-step login security, and storage of patient data in Switzerland in Zurich. In both cases, the first year is entirely included in the pack price.
Online booking
How does online appointment booking work for my patients?
Your patients go to your website, choose the type of consultation, select an available slot in your calendar, and confirm in a few clicks. They receive an automatic confirmation email. Everything is accessible 24/7, from a phone, a tablet or a computer.
Does online appointment booking replace my front desk?
No, it is a complement. The system absorbs requests outside office hours (evenings, weekends) and reduces repetitive phone calls. Your front desk keeps full control of the calendar and can change or cancel any appointment.
Are my appointments confirmed automatically, or do I keep control over approval?
Your choice. Two modes adjustable at any time from your management dashboard. In automatic approval, the request becomes a confirmed appointment as soon as it is booked. In manual approval, each request goes on hold: you confirm or decline in one click, and the patient is notified automatically by email. Manual mode is generally adopted by practices where most appointments are made by phone, or that wish to arbitrate requests themselves when there are competing slots.
Do my patients receive reminders before their appointment?
Yes, automatically. Each patient receives two reminders: a first one by email a week before the appointment (to plan ahead and free up the slot in time if they cannot make it), then a second one by email and SMS 24h before (a final reminder to limit no-shows). Each email contains the full summary (date, time, practitioner, treatment, address) and the practice's contact details to cancel or reschedule. This double-reminder system is the industry standard in 2026 (used by Doctolib, OneDoc) and cuts missed appointments by two to three times. If a patient cancels following a reminder, their slot is immediately offered to patients on the waiting list.
What happens when a patient cancels their appointment?
The freed slot does not stay empty. Patients who wanted an earlier date, or who could not find any availability, are notified automatically by email and SMS as soon as a slot opens up with the relevant practitioner. The first to confirm books the slot in one click; the others stay on the waiting list for next time. You fill your cancellations without making a single phone call, and your patients get an earlier appointment.
Can I send a prescription or a document to a patient from the dashboard?
Yes. From an appointment record, you click on «Document», select your file (PDF or image, up to 10 MB) and add a title and an optional message. The patient receives an email with a secure link to download the document (valid 30 days). You then see directly in the appointment record when the patient has downloaded the document, and how many times. Use cases: prescription after a consultation, quote, report, form to pre-fill before the consultation, video call link, and so on. Everything stays centralised in your management dashboard, without having to open Outlook or another email client. A pattern used by Doctolib.
How do video consultations work?
When you create a video appointment from your management dashboard, you paste the room link (Infomaniak's kMeet, Whereby, Zoom, Jitsi or any other tool of your choice). The patient automatically receives an email with this link in their confirmation and in the 24h reminder. LémanSoin does not host the consultation itself: you remain free to use the video solution you prefer, ideally a Swiss or European tool for consistency with your data protection commitment. You can also mix in-practice and video consultations in the same calendar.
How is the patient record organised in the management dashboard?
Each patient has a centralised record that gathers their contact details (last name, first name, date of birth, email, phone), their postal address, their LAMal number and complementary insurance, their preferred language for emails (French, English or German), administrative notes shared by the team (slot preferences, allergies to flag before the appointment), the history of all their past and upcoming appointments, and the documents you have sent them. A «New appointment» button lets you directly schedule a consultation pre-filled with their details. The patient record is administrative: it does not contain medical notes or a care file. This sensitive data belongs in your specialised practice software (electronic health record). LémanSoin is designed to integrate with your existing workflow, not to replace it.
Does LémanSoin replace my medical software (ERP, electronic patient record)?
No, LémanSoin is complementary, not a substitute. I manage your online presence: a premium website, patient self-booking 24/7, automatic confirmations and reminders by email and SMS, and a dashboard that gathers the contact details of patients who book appointments (name, email, phone, language, administrative notes shared by the team). Your existing medical software remains your main tool for the complete patient record (history, treatment plan, clinical reports, medical imaging), generating invoices compliant with Swiss insurers (Medidata, CMD, SDJ or others), accounting, as well as all professional obligations applicable to your activity (sterilisation traceability for dental practices, compliance with the rules of the FMH, the SSO or another professional association). You keep what already works, I add a «online presence and appointment booking» layer that integrates naturally into your workflow. If you do not yet have medical software (a typical case for a new practice or a paramedical practice), LémanSoin can cover your appointment booking and patient contact needs, but it is not a substitute for compliant invoicing software or a complete medical record: these professional obligations remain your responsibility.
What is the difference with OneDoc, local.ch or Comparis?
These platforms are intermediaries where you own nothing. OneDoc is a directory where patients compare several doctors and your data sits with them. Local.ch is a simple listing with a name and phone number, with no personalisation. Comparis generates automatic listings that you do not control. With LémanSoin, you have your own website on your own domain name, integrated appointment booking, and your patients' data stored in Zurich. No commission, no dependency.
Security and patient data
Where is my patients' data stored?
Your patients' data is stored exclusively in Switzerland, in Zurich. Transactional emails (appointment confirmations) are processed in Europe by a GDPR-certified provider. This guarantees compliance with medical confidentiality (art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code) and with Swiss data protection law.
Can you access my dashboard and view my patient data?
No, and several protections guarantee it. On first access to your dashboard, you use «Forgot password» to create your own password. I never know it and therefore cannot log in to your space. For maximum security, you can enable two-step login security via an authenticator app in the settings (compatible with Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy or any standard authenticator app). Even if someone knew your password, they could not log in without your phone, which holds the second login factor. All connections to your dashboard are automatically recorded in a security log (date, location, device used) that you can review at any time. This is the same protection used by Swiss banks such as Yuh, Neon, Revolut or PostFinance.
Will the emails sent to my patients carry my practice's name or my provider's name?
All emails sent to your patients (appointment confirmation, reminders, documents, video call link) go out exclusively from your own professional email address (for example noreply@your-practice.ch). This address is provided to you with no time limit alongside your domain name and is entirely dedicated to you. The patient only sees your practice's name as the sender, never that of your technical provider. This is the standard applied by Doctolib, OneDoc and all professional medical solutions. Bonus: deliverability is optimal (DKIM/SPF aligned with your domain), your emails do not land in spam.
Is my website compliant with Swiss data protection law (revFADP)?
Yes. All LémanSoin websites are compliant with the revFADP (the revised Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection, in force since September 2023). I use no tracking cookies, no Google Analytics, no Facebook Pixel. Your patients' data is stored in Switzerland (Zurich) and transactional emails are processed in Europe by a GDPR-certified provider.
What is the difference between the Swiss revFADP and the European GDPR?
The revFADP is Swiss law, the GDPR is European law. As a healthcare professional practising in Switzerland, it is the revFADP that applies first. The two laws are similar in principle, but LémanSoin specifically ensures compliance with Swiss law.
What does a doctor risk in the event of a patient data breach?
The doctor is personally liable in the event of a revFADP violation. Penalties can reach up to 250'000 CHF. Medical confidentiality (art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code) also requires that patient data not be hosted abroad without strict precautions. This is why 100% Swiss hosting is essential.
And if I do not take a maintenance plan in the second year, is my patient data lost?
No, your data is never lost because you do not have a maintenance plan. From the second year, you have 3 options. With the Hosting only option (290 CHF/year), your site stays online, your data stays stored in Zurich and accessible via your management dashboard; external automatic daily backups are no longer contractually guaranteed, which means that in the event of a technical incident you do not have the promise of a recent restore point. With an Essential Maintenance (119 CHF/month) or Comfort (189 CHF/month) plan, everything is contractually guaranteed, including automatic daily backups: this is the simplest way to meet your obligation to back up patient data (revFADP and medical confidentiality, art. 321 of the Swiss Criminal Code). Without any subscription, you retrieve the auth code for your domain name within minutes and organise your hosting on your side, while remaining the owner of your site and your data. The maintenance plan is not legally mandatory, but it is strongly recommended for practices that wish to fully delegate the technical management of their patient backups.
If I leave LémanSoin, what happens to my patient data and my dashboard?
You remain the owner of your patient data and your domain name at all times, with no lock-in. If you decide to leave LémanSoin (ending a plan, not subscribing in the second year, or changing provider), here is concretely what happens within the 30 days following the end of the service. Your .ch domain name is transferred to you free of charge via an authentication code (auth code) to your new provider, within minutes. You also receive, free of charge, a structured export of your patient data in CSV or JSON format (patient table, appointment history, associated records, documents sent), compliant with revFADP obligations. The public site and the administration dashboard are taken offline on the service end date: you then no longer have access to the booking system features at LémanSoin. You are then responsible for organising your new hosting and rebuilding your site and dashboard with the provider of your choice, using the exported data and your retrieved domain name. The site's source code (technical architecture) remains the property of LémanSoin and is not provided. However, the editorial content, photos and visual identity created for your practice belong to you. On request, a one-off assisted technical transfer service can be offered on a separate quote, billed at 130 CHF excl. VAT per hour.

How long does it take to create my website?
Allow 2 to 4 weeks for a Showcase Pack and 3 to 6 weeks for a Booking Pack, provided I have received all your information and photos. This includes the bespoke design, the back-and-forth approvals with you, and the full technical setup.
Will I own my website and my domain name?
Yes, from day one. I take care of buying the .ch domain name for you, but in your name: you are the legal owner in the Whois register. The purchase and technical setup of the first year are entirely included in your pack price. From the second year, the annual renewal is included in the plan you choose (hosting only, Essential Maintenance or Comfort Maintenance), with no separate invoice. Will my site rank well on Google?
Yes. Every site is optimised for local search ranking: when a patient in your town searches for your specialty on Google, your practice appears. I optimise titles, descriptions, loading speed and mobile adaptation.
